#OOTD – Comfortable & Effortless

I love celebrating…well, anything!  Be it birthdays, holidays or baby showers any excuse to buy a gift & drink wine is a great time in my book.  This weekend I attended a family members baby shower.  It was a casual setting and I was bringing the little man so I opted for denim instead of a dress.

The outfit I chose to wear was simple (a blouse, denim & boots), but it’s the little details & finishing touches that turn an outfit like this into a “look”. I rolled the denim above my ankle to show off the booties and changed the necklace to a simple black/gold piece tying into the color story I was creating with the black footwear. Since it was a chilly afternoon I threw on an infinity scarf which I knotted around my neck.  Comfortable & effortless housewife style.

#OOTD – Day to Night

Bling doesn’t have to be reserved for date nights.  When paired with denim it can be transformed into a day-time look appropriate for any occasion.  Plus sparkle is on-trend for the fall; from brooches to tops and everything in between, the more bling the better!

This morning my son & I hosted a play date at our house.  I wanted to wear something comfortable but was in a sparkly mood.

An outfit like this can easily transition from day-to-night.  By adding a boyfriend blazer & black heels I can wear this outfit out to dinner with friends or on a date night with the hubby.  I love when something is effortless!

#OOTD – Girls Night!

I love when I have the opportunity to get out of the house without my boys.  Don’t get me wrong, my husband & son are my life, but mamma needs some girl time…and some wine!  There’s nothing better than leaving my motherly/wifey duties at the door and enjoying some quality time with friends.  Last night I met a girlfriend out for dinner & drinks.  We ate, sampled beer, talked & laughed; just what I needed.  It’s nights like these that help me to unwind & de-stress and in turn make me a better wife & mother.

For me, going out with girlfriends is the perfect time to play around with my style and experiment with trends.  Yesterday’s #OOTD was channeling a casual rocker vibe: Knit-sleeve moto jacket overtop a vintage heather grey tank paired with skinny dark denim rolled and tucked into my leather ankle boots.
