#OOTN – Date Night

I tried to write a cute & clever story to accompany this blog post, but to be honest I am exhausted from the holidays & my creative side is apparently taking a nap.  Nevertheless, I am so excited to share this date night look from the holiday season.  I somehow convinced my husband to see The Nutcracker with me.  And, believe it or not he actually enjoyed it!

Last Christmas he gifted me this beautiful Tory Burch dress which I haven’t had the chance to wear  yet.  This was the perfect opportunity!  I styled it with my Tory wedges and new burgundy satchel from Stitch Fix for a simple yet chic ensemble great for date night.

Before the show we enjoyed a romantic dinner at Morton’s Steakhouse in the Cultural District of Pittsburgh.  My husband is wearing a gingham shirt by Untucked with a heather grey blazer from Nordstrom; he cleans up pretty well!

Finally, I also had the chance to wear this vintage dress coat gifted to me by my mother.  My father bought it for her when she was my age; I am so lucky she kept it all these years!

#OOTD – Cozy Sweater

The first snowfall has officially hit the ground in Pittsburgh & I’m loving it!  It’s that perfect snow that gently blankets the grass & trees but melts as soon as it hits the pavement.

I am always challenged with what to wear while running errands this time of year.  Wearing a bulky jacket does not make carrying my son & “diaper bag” easy.  I say diaper bag lightly because he’s almost fully potty trained, but I carry his snacks & an extra pair of pants just in case.  Though the air is crisp & cool, it’s not exactly freezing yet so I’m able to wear a comfy sweater & leggings with ease.

While running errands yesterday I decided to wear my oversized mock-neck sweater by Trouve.  My husband gifted this to me for Christmas two years ago & it has become a staple in my winter wardrobe.

I love playing with textures, so I paired this cozy sweater with a faux leather legging & faux suede bootie.  Below is an up-close picture of just how soft & comfortable this pullover sweater is!20161121_195149

#OOTD -Play Mat T-Shirt

Unfortunately, my son caught a nasty bug this week so my outfits have consisted of mostly leggings & slouchy tees.  Posting an Outfit Of The Day is the last thing on my mind, plus I doubt anyone is interested in what booger covered tee I’m rocking today 🙂

I am, however, super excited to share this fun tee I purchased for my husband’s birthday. This Play Mat Shirt courtesy of BKYKID on Etsy is by far one of my favorite purchases to date!

My husband was a little confused at first, but once I explained the concept of turning into a live play mat for our son, he loved the idea!  I definitely recommend this for anyone looking for a fun & unique holiday gift.
