Babes Who Brunch

Sundays are by far my favorite day of the week.  It’s a chance to relax from the weekend & mentally prepare for the week ahead.  Sometimes, I even get the opportunity to go out for brunch, which is the best way to spend a Sunday if you ask me.  What can be better than mimosas, cappuccinos & eating breakfast that someone else prepared?

Last weekend a few of my girlfriends & I tried a brunch spot in the Strip District of Pittsburgh called DiAnoia’s Eatery.  DiAnoia’s is a neighborhood gem!  An Italian deli & café by day and a full service restaurant by night.  A hot spot like this calls for a reservation, and even though we had one, we still had to wait a half hour.  However, the manager treated us to mimosas, so I can’t really complain.  Plus, the lemon ricotta pancakes were amazing; I’m still dreaming about them!

My good friend Adrienne from Wanderlust and Wardrobes & I always seem to show up rocking similar looks.  It’s always unplanned, but you know what they say, great minds style alike.  This time, we both chose to wear black floral layering pieces paired with dark wash skinnies and a trench.

With full bellies & happy hearts we strolled around the Strip District and came across some beautiful street art.  This wrap-around floral mural just screams spring, and photo op!  As a blogger, I can never resist a good backdrop ♥

Date Night Look

If you’ve read my blog in the past, you know how much I love a night out, especially date night with the hubs.  It’s been a minute since we enjoyed a night out together without little man, so this past weekend we pulled out all the stops!  We dressed our best, grabbed a box of cigars & headed out for a night on the town…

We started our night downtown with dirty martinis & red bull on the rocks; my man doesn’t drink, but still manages to be the life of the party, which is one of the many reasons I love him.  We met friends for dinner at the Grand Concourse, an old railroad station turned restaurant which is “nestled comfortably on the riverfront and overlooking the downtown skyline”.  Afterwards, we ventured to the Rivers Casino for some more drinks, live music & a little gambling.

My outfit of the night is the perfect example of inexpensive & chic.  My skirt & pumps are from Forever 21, my crop top is from TJ Maxx & my faux leather clutch is from Target.  I love fashion on a dime!!!

Fashion Bloggers Unite

I am excited to share that I’ve officially become a member of Style Collective!  For those that aren’t familiar, Style Collective is a “blogging community and platform for female influencers to connect, grow, and learn how to be successful bloggers and entrepreneurs”.  When I first started my blog 2 years ago, I wasn’t sure which direction it would take or how much energy I would direct towards it.  But after trial and error I think I have found my footing focusing on fashion, daily outfit inspirations and the occasional momism.

Over the weekend I attended Pittsburgh’s first official Style Collective meetup.  It was the perfect opportunity to break all the rules…who says you can’t wear white after Labor Day?!  I also showcased my grandmother’s vintage leather coat which was recently handed down to me.  Can we just talk about this faux fur tho… 😉

This faux fur stole makes the whole jacket!  I’m in love; thanks Grandma.
