#OOTD – Girls Night Out

Well, it’s official, my first Girls Night of 2018 is in the books!  With the holidays being such a blur, my girlfriends and I decided to do our annual gift exchange after the New Year.  We put together a big spread of finger foods, drank red wine & caught up over exchanging gifts.
For our get together I decided to wear this new cold shoulder blouse I recently picked up at Marshalls, my distressed Old Navy Skinnies, cuffed above the ankle, and these Express booties from last winter.  I’ve included links to the styles I wore so you can shop these looks, or at least something similar!

My girlfriend Jackie lives right on Lake Erie so as you can imagine her views are breathtaking.  I just had to share this picture I captured Saturday night of the water covered in ice just before sunset.  I could sit by her window all day, such beautiful views!

Do you guys have any fun holiday traditions you share with your friends?  I’d love to hear what you do to celebrate!

Happy New Year

Happy New Year!  Can you believe it’s 2018 already?!  This year, like the last few, we celebrated at home with friends & family.  Now that we have little man it’s so much easier to have people over than to worry about hiring a babysitter & going out. Plus, I love to host so it’s a win-win!

In the years past we’ve hosed a fondue party, but since little and his friends were joining in on the fun I thought a big spread of homemade apps & finger foods would be best.  While the adults enjoyed chocolate martinis & mixed drinks, the kiddos sipped on Shirley Temples with bendy straws & cherry garnishes. I set up a photo backdrop in the basement with props and we even did an early ball drop at 9 PM for the kids.

For my outfit, I decided to wear a lace romper that I had picked up at Target for only $27.99 and statement earrings from Walmart for $3.  Side note, I’ve never been one to shop jewelry at Walmart but I couldn’t pass up $3 earrings that were super cute!  The cut-out back & lightweight sleeves on the romper made hosting a breeze.  I was cool & comfortable while cooking in the kitchen, refilling drinks & chasing the kids around.

Olive you too #OOTD

As the weather continues to cool here in Pittsburgh rich colors & textures have made a huge presence in my daily wardrobe.  From cozy on-trend knits to oversized ponchos & an array of olive green, my daily outfits have been screaming all things fall!  Below I’ve added some of my favorite easy to wear looks & layering pieces, all of which are under $100.

Pictured Below – Emory Park poncho cardigan from Stitch Fix ($48) and a long sleeve grey knit tee from Marshalls ($12.99).  A versatile look that transitioned from preschool drop-off to brunch & shopping with my mom
