Target Fashion Finds

There’s a saying “You don’t go to Target because you need something.  You go to Target and let Target tell you what you need.” ūüôā

We’ve all been guilty of walking in those doors with something in mind and leaving with a cart full of extra “necessities”.  Today while shopping with little man I came across some fashion finds at great prices like this polka dot shirt dress for $27.99.  Dresses like this are so versatile – I can keep things classic with a black pump or channel my edgy side with a moto jacket and heeled ankle bootie.

I’m usually not one to wear skirts but I couldn’t resist snagging this timeless black pencil skirt for $22.99.  It’s a great piece to wear casually with a cozy sweater like I styled below or dressed up for that 9-5 with a split neck blouse & pointed toe flat.

My final find of the day were these high-rise zipper detail jeans by Wild Fable.  They’re priced online for $28 but I found them in the clearance section for $14 – I couldn’t resist!  Even my little man thought they were too fun to pass up.

I attached links underneath each picture –¬†happy shopping!

The Unofficial Start to Summer #OOTD

Memorial Day weekend has come & gone which in my mind means it’s officially summer!¬† Little man is done with preschool and I am already daydreaming about the BBQs, pool days and late nights spent with friends & family.

Over the weekend we kicked off the unofficial start to summer by heading to my parents in Ohio.  We played cornhole during the day & grilled out at night, went to a local festival, ate lunch by the lake, not once but twice and just enjoyed being together in the sunshine.  Oh, summertime, I love you!

It was hot & sticky out the day we went to the Strawberry Festival so I kept things casual & comfortable with my cut-off denim shorts, a cold shoulder tee & straw fedora from Target.¬† This graphic¬†tee was only $14.99; I’ve linked it here.¬† I’ve also linked this medium crossbody bag from Amazon which was only $24 and comes in¬†3 other colors.¬† Ever since I ditched the diaper bag I am all about¬†practicality vs.¬†style, and luckily this bag¬†is both!¬† Though this picture isn’t the best quality, it’s one of my favorites.¬† It’s a perfect example of a day in the life… ‚ô•

Growing up by Lake Erie was always an adventure.  I spent my younger years at Cedar Point and the beach then as I got older my friends & I ventured to the islands and enjoyed summer nights on the Booze Cruise.  I am so excited that I now get to make memories by the Lake with my husband & little man.  Eating lunch by the water while watching the boats come in & out was such a treat over the weekend.  I cannot wait to start taking little man to the beach!

Though we didn’t plan our coordinating looks, I am loving our outfits!¬† You can’t go wrong with olive & grey.

Happy New Year

Happy New Year!¬† Can you believe it’s 2018 already?!¬† This year, like the¬†last few, we celebrated at home with friends & family.¬† Now that we have little man it’s so much easier to have people over than to worry about hiring a babysitter & going out. Plus, I love to host so it’s a win-win!

In the years past we’ve hosed a fondue party, but since little and his friends were joining in on the fun I thought a big spread of homemade apps & finger foods would be best.¬† While the adults enjoyed chocolate martinis & mixed drinks, the kiddos sipped on Shirley Temples with bendy straws & cherry garnishes. I set up a photo backdrop in the basement with props and we even did an early ball drop at 9 PM for the kids.

For my outfit, I decided to wear a lace romper that I had picked up at Target for only $27.99 and statement earrings from Walmart for $3.¬† Side note, I’ve never been one to shop jewelry at Walmart but I couldn’t pass up $3 earrings that were super cute!¬† The cut-out back & lightweight sleeves on the romper made hosting a breeze.¬† I was cool & comfortable while cooking in the kitchen, refilling drinks & chasing the kids around.
