Target Fashion Finds

There’s a saying “You don’t go to Target because you need something.  You go to Target and let Target tell you what you need.” ūüôā

We’ve all been guilty of walking in those doors with something in mind and leaving with a cart full of extra “necessities”.  Today while shopping with little man I came across some fashion finds at great prices like this polka dot shirt dress for $27.99.  Dresses like this are so versatile – I can keep things classic with a black pump or channel my edgy side with a moto jacket and heeled ankle bootie.

I’m usually not one to wear skirts but I couldn’t resist snagging this timeless black pencil skirt for $22.99.  It’s a great piece to wear casually with a cozy sweater like I styled below or dressed up for that 9-5 with a split neck blouse & pointed toe flat.

My final find of the day were these high-rise zipper detail jeans by Wild Fable.  They’re priced online for $28 but I found them in the clearance section for $14 – I couldn’t resist!  Even my little man thought they were too fun to pass up.

I attached links underneath each picture –¬†happy shopping!

PGH Fashion Week

This week kicks off Pittsburgh Fashion Week and I can honestly say I am so excited, especially since this is my first time attending the runway show.¬† Yesterday a local publication, Social Butterfly Magazine, hosted an event at Chocolate Moonshine & Co¬†to celebrate the beginning of Fashion Week here in Pittsburgh.¬† Besides being surrounded by fun, fashion & food, I had the chance to interact with some of the area’s most influential creatives.

They say to stay close to the ones that inspire you, and let me just say these girls are goals!¬† It’s so amazing to be surrounded by such motivated, strong women.¬† I love seeing everyone’s individual style, hearing their stories and having the chance to learn from them.

Yesterday, I decided last minute to layer this shift dress from Vintage Grace Boutique underneath this lightweight, sleeveless trench from Versona; both local shops.  Lately I have found myself more inspired by the pressure of procrastination rather than planning my outfits in advance.  I finished this look with my peep toe booties from Stitch Fix and my favorite faux leather bag from Amazon.

Day to Night Style

As a busy mom-on-the-go ease of wear is important to me.¬† Whether I’m running errands with little man, grabbing lunch with a blogger babe or dinner & drinks with the hubs, I need clothing that¬†will keep me comfortable & can easily transition from day to night.¬† Throughout the years I’ve picked up wardrobe staples that have helped¬†me¬†turn daytime looks into nighttime ensembles and vice versa.¬† I’m talking layering pieces, great fitting denim and footwear.¬† See below how I’ve incorporated these essentials into my¬†outfits and how easy it is for a piece to transition from morning coffee to evening drinks.

I recently picked up this V-neck tie-waist top from Marshall’s.¬† It was super cheap but also¬†super lightweight & comfortable; all of¬†my favorite things!¬† I wore it casually during the day with my favorite denim jacket (a wardrobe staple) and olive chino shorts, then out for dinner & drinks with dark wash skinnies (another wardrobe staple), a statement clutch/crossbody & an espadrille wedge.

Another Marshall’s find that I transitioned from day to night is this graphic Born to be Wild tank.¬† I wore it on a gloomy spring morning with a lightweight cotton cardigan (a wardrobe staple), my Kensie Skinnies and a strappy leather sandal, then out for dinner & movie later that night with a faux leather moto jacket (another staple), distressed skinnies, and my favorite wedges.

Finding essentials that you keep you comfortable is key to mastering a day to night wardrobe.  I definitely recommend investing in a great pair of regular & distressed skinny jeans, layering pieces, and even solid tanks/tees that you can mix & match.
