Pgh Fall Market + Event

This isn’t the first time I’ve said this & it definitely won’t be my last – I love the creative community here in Pittsburgh.  Every time I attend an event or immerge myself into the blogging/styling world I am amazed with the goal-oriented, power houses that I meet.  Today was no exception…

This afternoon I attended an event hosted by Wildfire Pgh – Pittsburgh’s first boutique market & virtual look book.  Seven local boutiques filled the brick patio of a local brewery with their fall fashions, accessories and handmade goods.  I was not prepared for the chilly outdoor temps but that problem was quickly solved when I purchased a fringe hem poncho from Penny Layne Boutique (pictured below).

I always find myself leaving these events feeling inspired, grateful, and proud…Inspired by the people I meet, their stories and their goals, Grateful for the friends I’ve made and the support I receive, and Proud of myself for starting The Wexford Housewife, for becoming a part of this creative community & being willing to change and grow.

I’ve included links to the boutiques that were at today’s event so you can shop their latest styles & fall looks.

Stitch Fix Kids Reveal

As a mom and a Stitch Fix stylist I was so excited when I heard we were launching a kids collection. I wanted to be a part of it & luckily was chosen to join the Kids Styling Team.  The merchandise is colorful, on-trend and full of fun surprises like zipper details and interactive appliques.  I finally had the chance to schedule little man his first Fix and I am happy to say everything exceeded my expectations.

I love working for this Company!  They went out of their way to make sure our Kids Collection was focused 100% around the kiddos.  Not only are the clothes super soft & easy to wear, but there was a fun sheet of stickers included with his Fix and the box everything arrived in can be turned into a spaceship.  Besides the shoes, which we normally have a hard time with, everything was true to size compared to the other brands he wears.

PGH Fashion Week

This week kicks off Pittsburgh Fashion Week and I can honestly say I am so excited, especially since this is my first time attending the runway show.  Yesterday a local publication, Social Butterfly Magazine, hosted an event at Chocolate Moonshine & Co to celebrate the beginning of Fashion Week here in Pittsburgh.  Besides being surrounded by fun, fashion & food, I had the chance to interact with some of the area’s most influential creatives.

They say to stay close to the ones that inspire you, and let me just say these girls are goals!  It’s so amazing to be surrounded by such motivated, strong women.  I love seeing everyone’s individual style, hearing their stories and having the chance to learn from them.

Yesterday, I decided last minute to layer this shift dress from Vintage Grace Boutique underneath this lightweight, sleeveless trench from Versona; both local shops.  Lately I have found myself more inspired by the pressure of procrastination rather than planning my outfits in advance.  I finished this look with my peep toe booties from Stitch Fix and my favorite faux leather bag from Amazon.
