Favorite Thing Friday – Miracle Gel

Pre-motherhood I had a standing appointment at the nail salon every two weeks for a gel manicure and pedicure.  They knew my name, didn’t mind if I brought wine along (which was usually the case) and didn’t judge my sometimes ridiculous polish choices like fuchsia pinks and black.  Post-child…what is a nail salon?  Although I hate to paint my nails I started to give myself at-home manicures.  I’m so hard on my nails that the polish would chip within a day so I would always opt for a clear polish to make my life easier.  I eventually decided to give Sally Hansen Miracle Gel a try & I love it!

Although it doesn’t last quite as long as the gel manicures at the salon it’s a great alternative.  It’s a quick two-step process to apply & doesn’t require UV lighting.  My favorite colors for fall are Wine Stock (pictured) and Greyfitti.  The next time you’re giving yourself an at-home manicure I definitely suggest using the Sally Hansen Miracle Gel!

Favorite Thing Friday

I’m that impulse shopper that stores love.  You think I would know better since I worked in the retail industry for 10 years, but I have such a hard time only buying what I intended while running errands.  Those little displays on the aisle end caps & at the register call out to me, enticing me to buy things I didn’t know I wanted nor that I need.

This week while at Rite Aid I came across an end cap display of Wet n’ Wild cosmetics marked down 40% off.  Even though I’m not a huge fan of Wet n Wild products I had to purchase something!  Luckily enough I ended up buying something that I love & I’m excited to share my new favorite thing.

Wet n Wild MegaSlicks Lip Gloss

The lip gloss is originally priced at $1.99 so even without the promotion it was still a steal.  For the price, I was expecting a sticky gloss that dried out my lips, but rather it does exactly what is claims to and adds mega shine, color & moisturizing luster!  I picked up Raspberry Voice but cannot wait to go back for more shades.  The next time you’re at the store looking for a new lip color, pick this up!  I hope you enjoy it as much as I do…and if not, it’s only $1.99.
