Favorite Thing Friday – Blanket Scarf

What better way to stay warm & stylish this season than with a blanket scarf.  A blanket scarf is exactly what it sounds like…a scarf that’s big enough to serve as a blanket.  This winter-time favorite has many personalities; it truly is the perfect addition to any outfit!

Whether you’re wearing it as intended or taking advantage of its oversized body, this scarf creates a cozy, effortless, ready for winter look.  Below I’ve shared four of my favorite ways to wear this one-size fits all essential.

Favorite Thing Friday – Miracle Gel

Pre-motherhood I had a standing appointment at the nail salon every two weeks for a gel manicure and pedicure.  They knew my name, didn’t mind if I brought wine along (which was usually the case) and didn’t judge my sometimes ridiculous polish choices like fuchsia pinks and black.  Post-child…what is a nail salon?  Although I hate to paint my nails I started to give myself at-home manicures.  I’m so hard on my nails that the polish would chip within a day so I would always opt for a clear polish to make my life easier.  I eventually decided to give Sally Hansen Miracle Gel a try & I love it!

Although it doesn’t last quite as long as the gel manicures at the salon it’s a great alternative.  It’s a quick two-step process to apply & doesn’t require UV lighting.  My favorite colors for fall are Wine Stock (pictured) and Greyfitti.  The next time you’re giving yourself an at-home manicure I definitely suggest using the Sally Hansen Miracle Gel!

Favorite Thing Friday – Sling Back Bag

I am excited to share my new favorite thing this week – the Sling Back Bag from Thirty One Gifts.  As a mom constantly on the go I was sick of carrying my oversized diaper bag.  The diaper bag was necessary when my son was an infant because I needed to have everything under sun with me at all times; diapers & wipes, diaper changing mat, extra set of clothes, burp clothes, bibs, formula & bottles, entertainment toys, etc.  Now that he’s 16 months he doesn’t require as much ‘equipment’, so I can finally enter the world of alternative diaper bags.

I recently purchased the Sling Back Bag during a Thirty One party I hosted hoping it was the diaper bag replacement I was looking for.  Not only is this bag functional with its various pockets, but it’s easy to throw over my shoulder allowing me to carry my son in one arm & groceries in the other.  This is my new favorite thing!

The Sling Back Bag is more than just a diaper bag; it’s great for traveling, hiking or even running errands.  It comes in 4 different colors and is priced at a reasonable $45.

Favorite Thing Friday

I’m that impulse shopper that stores love.  You think I would know better since I worked in the retail industry for 10 years, but I have such a hard time only buying what I intended while running errands.  Those little displays on the aisle end caps & at the register call out to me, enticing me to buy things I didn’t know I wanted nor that I need.

This week while at Rite Aid I came across an end cap display of Wet n’ Wild cosmetics marked down 40% off.  Even though I’m not a huge fan of Wet n Wild products I had to purchase something!  Luckily enough I ended up buying something that I love & I’m excited to share my new favorite thing.

Wet n Wild MegaSlicks Lip Gloss

The lip gloss is originally priced at $1.99 so even without the promotion it was still a steal.  For the price, I was expecting a sticky gloss that dried out my lips, but rather it does exactly what is claims to and adds mega shine, color & moisturizing luster!  I picked up Raspberry Voice but cannot wait to go back for more shades.  The next time you’re at the store looking for a new lip color, pick this up!  I hope you enjoy it as much as I do…and if not, it’s only $1.99.

Favorite Thing Friday!

Despite the fact that I’m a SAHM & most of the days seem to run together Fridays are still one of my favorite days!  Maybe it’s the kick off to the weekend, the possibility of sleeping in the next day while my hubby handles the little man’s breakfast, or getting together with family & friends, either way Fridays are the prologue to a fun adventure.

To start the weekend off on a positive note I’ve decided that every Friday I’m going to share one of my favorite things.  Be it something new that I’ve tried or something I can’t live without, it will be something fun that I’m excited to share!

My new favorite thing this week is Bai Bubbles – a flavorful, antioxidant drink with only 5 calories!

jamaica-blood-orange

I came across this beverage while making a quick Target run last night.  I wanted something besides Red Bull to give me energy, because lord knows I need all the help I can get.  I took it with me on my morning walk & I am obsessed!  Not only does it taste good but it’s naturally caffeinated & has 1 Net Carb per serving!  The best thing about it is the slogan on the side of the can:

“BEHOLD FIERCE FRUIT FLAVOR.  IT’S LIKE AN EXOTIC KICK IN YOUR MOUTHPANTS”

Bai has three different products in various flavors all of which are infused with a “secret superfruit”, the antioxidant-rich coffeefruit.  To learn more about the products, where you can buy them or recipe ideas visit their website http://www.drinkbai.com/
