Pgh Fall Market + Event

This isn’t the first time I’ve said this & it definitely won’t be my last – I love the creative community here in Pittsburgh.  Every time I attend an event or immerge myself into the blogging/styling world I am amazed with the goal-oriented, power houses that I meet.  Today was no exception…

This afternoon I attended an event hosted by Wildfire Pgh – Pittsburgh’s first boutique market & virtual look book.  Seven local boutiques filled the brick patio of a local brewery with their fall fashions, accessories and handmade goods.  I was not prepared for the chilly outdoor temps but that problem was quickly solved when I purchased a fringe hem poncho from Penny Layne Boutique (pictured below).

I always find myself leaving these events feeling inspired, grateful, and proud…Inspired by the people I meet, their stories and their goals, Grateful for the friends I’ve made and the support I receive, and Proud of myself for starting The Wexford Housewife, for becoming a part of this creative community & being willing to change and grow.

I’ve included links to the boutiques that were at today’s event so you can shop their latest styles & fall looks.

Wine Women & Shoes

Last week I had the opportunity to attend Wine Women & Shoes – a “two-part signature event series (that) creates an enhanced atmosphere of giving where community-minded, philanthropic women (and a few good men) gather to sip, shop, savor, and support a worthy cause in an exciting, chic and innovative way.”

I wasn’t sure what to expect since this was my first time attending the event, but I can honestly say that I was blown away.  As I entered the ballroom at the Rivers Casino I was offered a glass of champagne from one of the “Shoe Guys” and encouraged to browse the numerous designer vendors including local clothing, jewelry and sweets boutiques.  Before being seated for dinner I enjoyed wine tasting & finger foods while mingling with other like-minded women.

During the seated dinner there was a fabulous fashion show showcasing clothing from Pure Barre and Serendipity Boutique followed by a live auction and handcrafted desserts.  The benefactor for this years’ event was the Pittsburgh Emergency Medical Foundation which is committed to providing financial support for research and educational endeavors in the field of emergency medicine.

For the event I decided to wear a little black dress, because, well… you can never go wrong with a LBD.   This petite wraparound flounce flare dress from Loft was originally $89.50 but I picked it up on sale for 30% off.  I paired it with statement heels and dangly earrings for a chic, romantic-inspired look that kept me comfortable & stylish.

Lady Gang Girl Power

If you don’t already have a girl gang, run out & find out.  I’ve found mine & I am beyond grateful for GRLPWRPGH.  This group is exactly what it sounds like….a bunch of boss babes in the Pittsburgh area who network, collab, get inspired & share stories.  In today’s fast paced, media run, #metoo world, it is so important to have women that have your back.  I joined the group already knowing a few familiar faces but with each event I get the opportunity to connect with women who continue to surprise and inspire me.

Earlier this week we had our VIP Membership Dinner at the cutest outdoor venue in Pittsburgh called Bay41.  As the sun set over the candle lit dinner table, women from all walks of life sat down to break bread, share stories & cheers to the future.

What’s an event without a great theme & some fantastic photo ops?  The night’s theme was boho-chic so I wore this embroidered shift dress from Old Navy with my faux leather ponte jacket by Kut from the Kloth (Stitch Fix) and my peep toe booties also from Stitch Fix.
