#OOTD – Day to Night

With yesterday being St. Patrick’s Day I wanted to wear green, but not in a “kiss me I’m Irish” way. I also had a full plate and knew I wouldn’t have time to change outfits later in the day.  I opted for an understated green pixie pant that I could easily transition from day to night.

During the day my son & I had a brunch/play date planned with friends.  To keep things casual, I paired my pixie’s with a casual tee, my Kensie blazer & a pointed toe flat.

Later that night we were celebrating my brother’s birthday.  I guess you could say he’s an honorary Irishman being that his birthday is St. Patrick’s Day.  To transition from casual to chic, I switched out my knit blazer for a more structured fit.  I also changed from flats to my favorite high-heeled ankle booties & threw my hair in a slicked back pony tail.  I added a bold lip & my Tory Burch handbag…I was ready for dinner & drinks!

#OOTD – Faux Fur

This past winter I gained an appreciation for faux fur.  I picked up an amazing fur vest by Love Tree & it quickly became my favorite layering piece for dresses, blouses & even long sleeve tees.  With spring knocking on the door my days of wearing it are getting limited.

Last night I had the honor of celebrating a friend’s new baby.  This was my chance to wear the vest one last time before letting it hibernate through the warmer seasons.

I opted for a classic shift dress in a boho-inspired print.  My faux fur vest was the perfect accessory to play on the dress’ bohemian flair.  To keep things chic, I added my Tory Burch wedges & a beige bauble necklace.

Favorite Thing Friday – Blanket Scarf

What better way to stay warm & stylish this season than with a blanket scarf.  A blanket scarf is exactly what it sounds like…a scarf that’s big enough to serve as a blanket.  This winter-time favorite has many personalities; it truly is the perfect addition to any outfit!

Whether you’re wearing it as intended or taking advantage of its oversized body, this scarf creates a cozy, effortless, ready for winter look.  Below I’ve shared four of my favorite ways to wear this one-size fits all essential.

Scarf: Looped once around the neck, leaving the ends to hang loosely

Shawl: One end tossed over the shoulder, leaving the other end to hang loosely

Blanket: Draped over the shoulders
