Stitch Fix Reveal

As a Senior Stylist for Stitch Fix, I not only get the opportunity to style some amazing women, but I also get to style myself.  After seeing all of the summer-inspired styles in our inventory, I couldn’t resist sending myself a Fix.  Scroll down to see the pieces I decided to keep & send back, and some quick styling tips for each item.

Lux & Co Knit Maxi Dress

This is by far my favorite style from this Fix.  I love the pattern mixing and pockets, the lightweight fabrication and the figure-flattering A-line silhouette.  It’s a little long, but I’m only 5’0″ so that’s normal for me; nothing some strappy wedges can’t fix.  I cannot wait to wear this dress out for date night with a floral statement necklace & a black clutch.

Nine Britton Jemima Knit Dress

This lightweight shift dress is perfect for summer!  Not only does it have pockets but a built in shelf bra as well.  It will look great worn during the day with a strappy leather sandal then to dinner on an outdoor patio with a denim jacket and an espadrille wedge.

Market & Spruce Belt Bag AND Pistola Button Front Frayed Hem Skinny Jeans

I am in love with both of these styles!  The belt bag is unlike anything I currently have in my wardrobe plus it’s only $38, and the Pistola Jeans have an elongating high-rise waist & unique distressed detailing.  I paired the jeans with several different tops, but I think a knotted tee or body suit will look best.

Fun2Fun Casterino V-Neck Top

This is only style that I wasn’t sold on.  I love the woven detailing around the neckline but I think the color washes me out a little.  It’s a great silhouette, so I may try it again but in a different color/pattern.

Day to Night Style

As a busy mom-on-the-go ease of wear is important to me.  Whether I’m running errands with little man, grabbing lunch with a blogger babe or dinner & drinks with the hubs, I need clothing that will keep me comfortable & can easily transition from day to night.  Throughout the years I’ve picked up wardrobe staples that have helped me turn daytime looks into nighttime ensembles and vice versa.  I’m talking layering pieces, great fitting denim and footwear.  See below how I’ve incorporated these essentials into my outfits and how easy it is for a piece to transition from morning coffee to evening drinks.

I recently picked up this V-neck tie-waist top from Marshall’s.  It was super cheap but also super lightweight & comfortable; all of my favorite things!  I wore it casually during the day with my favorite denim jacket (a wardrobe staple) and olive chino shorts, then out for dinner & drinks with dark wash skinnies (another wardrobe staple), a statement clutch/crossbody & an espadrille wedge.

Another Marshall’s find that I transitioned from day to night is this graphic Born to be Wild tank.  I wore it on a gloomy spring morning with a lightweight cotton cardigan (a wardrobe staple), my Kensie Skinnies and a strappy leather sandal, then out for dinner & movie later that night with a faux leather moto jacket (another staple), distressed skinnies, and my favorite wedges.

Finding essentials that you keep you comfortable is key to mastering a day to night wardrobe.  I definitely recommend investing in a great pair of regular & distressed skinny jeans, layering pieces, and even solid tanks/tees that you can mix & match.

The Unofficial Start to Summer #OOTD

Memorial Day weekend has come & gone which in my mind means it’s officially summer!  Little man is done with preschool and I am already daydreaming about the BBQs, pool days and late nights spent with friends & family.

Over the weekend we kicked off the unofficial start to summer by heading to my parents in Ohio.  We played cornhole during the day & grilled out at night, went to a local festival, ate lunch by the lake, not once but twice and just enjoyed being together in the sunshine.  Oh, summertime, I love you!

It was hot & sticky out the day we went to the Strawberry Festival so I kept things casual & comfortable with my cut-off denim shorts, a cold shoulder tee & straw fedora from Target.  This graphic tee was only $14.99; I’ve linked it here.  I’ve also linked this medium crossbody bag from Amazon which was only $24 and comes in 3 other colors.  Ever since I ditched the diaper bag I am all about practicality vs. style, and luckily this bag is both!  Though this picture isn’t the best quality, it’s one of my favorites.  It’s a perfect example of a day in the life… ♥

Growing up by Lake Erie was always an adventure.  I spent my younger years at Cedar Point and the beach then as I got older my friends & I ventured to the islands and enjoyed summer nights on the Booze Cruise.  I am so excited that I now get to make memories by the Lake with my husband & little man.  Eating lunch by the water while watching the boats come in & out was such a treat over the weekend.  I cannot wait to start taking little man to the beach!

Though we didn’t plan our coordinating looks, I am loving our outfits!  You can’t go wrong with olive & grey.

I hope everyone had an amazing holiday weekend spent with loved ones!
